We can learn a thing or two from actor and comedian Steve Harvey. This guy is literally all over the place. He makes us laugh hysterically on the game show Family Feud and we hear his words of wisdom while driving to work or school everyday on the Steve Harvey Morning Show. I know I'm not the only twenty-something year old who aspires to be as GREAT as Mr.Harvey one day. After reading his book, "Act Like a Success Think Like a Success", I felt very empowered to want to do better for myself. This blog is about getting your fire back and awakening your dreams. I hope these powerful words from Steve Harvey makes you realize how much GREATNESS you have in you. Grab a cup of coffee and let's get inspired together girl...and boy!
"Everything that you will ever be is already inside of you"
That's it. You have to realize that there are seeds of greatness of inside of you that's waiting to bloom at the right time. You have to water this seed daily so you can continue to grow. Even if you don't know what you want to do in life, there is STILL creativity and talent that's waiting to burst out of you.
“When you put your efforts into your gift, you are giving God something to bless.”
God will always bless your work. Never stop putting in the effort towards your special gift. Remember, the main goal is to PROGRESS and get better. If you continue to be consistent, I believe God will bless you with opportunities that no man (or woman) can take away from you.
"Growth is in a series of mistakes, That's the only way you learn."
Newsflash, you don't know EVERYTHING and that's ok! You will mess up and you will learn. This is a simple reminder to learn from your mistakes and keep it moving. Do NOT allow yourself to get discouraged over a little setback, there is so much in store for you. What's meant for you will always workout! Stay encouraged.
"God lets you be successful because he trusts you that you will do the right thing with it. Now, does He get disappointed often? All the time, because people get there and they forget how they got it."
Not matter how successful you become, stay humble and grounded. You have no right to abuse and misuse the gift God gave you. Use your gift to honor Him somehow. For example: help someone out who's less fortunate, get involved with the community, and give back! Don't forget where your blessings come from.
"You have the same right to sit at the Big Table as anyone else. For far too long, the Big Tables have been dominated by the same kinds of people and personalities. Sit up, speak with boldness about what you know, and add value that would be absent from the table if you remained silent. Take your opportunity to add your unique talents and skills to the mix."
I love this quote so much. It's a great reminder that you should never underestimate your ideas. You deserve to sit at the "big table" just as much as anyone else sitting there. Always be confident in your work and NEVER sell yourself short. You got this!
